The state of North Carolina has a list of rivers that they have designated as Delayed Harvest. This means that through the spring and fall, each of these rivers will receive a population of trout stocked by the NC Wildlife Resource Commission. The regulations on these rivers are as follows. October 1st until the first Saturday in June, catch and release only, only single-hook artificial lures may be used. Starting on the first Saturday in June, there are no lure restrictions, and you may keep seven fish per person per day. These streams are very popular because they will always have fresh fish during the busy times of year for fishing, and during the summer you can bring a few home for dinner if you so choose. Listed above are all the rivers that will be stocked and the week that they will be stocked for spring 2025.
